Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 10, 2026
IsoRide is built with privacy as a core principle. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide weather-based cycling recommendations, and we never track, profile, or sell your information.
Information We Collect
Location data. IsoRide accesses your device's location while the app is in use to fetch weather conditions for your area. Your coordinates are sent to Apple WeatherKit to retrieve local forecasts. Your location is never stored on any server, logged, or used for any purpose other than fetching weather data in real time.
Third-Party Services
Apple WeatherKit. We use Apple's WeatherKit service to provide forecast data. When the app fetches weather, your approximate latitude and longitude are included in the API request. Apple's use of this data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Google AdMob. IsoRide displays advertisements through Google AdMob. The app is configured to serve non-personalized ads only — we have explicitly disabled ad personalization at the SDK level. Google may collect device identifiers, usage data, and other information for ad delivery and fraud prevention, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage your ad preferences at Google Ads Settings.
Consent management. IsoRide uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to comply with EEA, UK, and Swiss consent requirements (GDPR) and US state regulations. The first time you launch the app in a regulated region, a consent dialog appears. You can change your choices at any time via Settings → Privacy choices.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults and are never transmitted to any server:
- Unit system preference (metric or imperial)
- Appearance and color theme settings
- Safety buffer duration
- Shelter location (if configured)
- Notification preferences
- Ride-style preferences (temperature comfort, wind sensitivity, AQI concern, UV warnings)
- Calendar sync preferences
Diagnostic data. IsoRide subscribes to Apple's MetricKit framework, which provides daily app-performance metrics (launch counts, hangs, scroll responsiveness) and diagnostic payloads on crashes. These payloads are stored on-device in the app's Documents folder and capped at 30 files. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly tap "Share diagnostic data" in Settings, in which case the data is exported to whichever app you choose (Mail, Messages, AirDrop, etc.).
What We Do Not Collect
- No user accounts or registration
- No email addresses or personal identifiers
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
- No advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking
- No user-level location history
Data Retention
IsoRide has no server infrastructure of its own. All user data exists solely on your device. Deleting the app removes all stored data.
Children's Privacy
IsoRide does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not require registration or collect personal data of any kind.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
